It's now 1981 and 'Magentalane' is in the works. A constant challenge remains to depict an image that denotes such a diverse range of musical styles from the hard-driving 'Blue Smoke' to the whimsical
'Mrs Toad's Cookies'.
Once again, I used watercolour and egg Tempra as the media, however when Capitol Records printed the cover they tried to saturate the magenta in print and instead filtered out the magenta resulting in a horrific printed jacket. Thankfully the 45 sleeve looked as the artwork did. Interestingly, the artwork now looks like the printed album cover after being on Terry Drapers' wall for 30 years with sun's rays fading out the watercolours!
