The next challenge was 'Hope'. After listening to tracks from this album, I battled with intimidation.
How could I ever come up with a cover that would represent this incredible concept album? It was unlike anything I'd ever heard before. And I was just a kid from Toronto, barely out of art school!
I invested a lot of hours on the border of that cover because I wanted it to compare with the border on their first album. And then there was the challenge of what the heck Politzania looked like!
It wasn't until I rediscovered the water treatment plant along the Toronto lakeshore, that I felt I had the appropriate architecture for Politzania. I must admit, the use of oil paints with a long drying period between coats, plus my dissatisfaction with the composition, created a stressful deadline for completion of this project.
